I think the power outages in Louisiana are starting to cause mild brown outs here in Arkansas. Fortunately we have a nuclear powerplant in Russelville, AR, but I'm noticing my lights going dim and my fan slowing down periodically. My electric is through Entergy which is based in Louisiana. So far, the power hasn't completely shut off. Crossing fingers. [-O<

Wow, didn't realize it was that far reaching! Keeping my fingers crossed for you my friend! Even if it is the middle of a challenge...I'd shut 'em down if the supply gets too iffy. I've had too many blown PSUs and Mobos that you can all attest to over the past 3 years. Makes me a little more cautious than I used to be. ;)

Well, the storm here was more mild, though it did manage to grab my back exterior door and rip the door returns partially out. It's all blown by now. No apparent electricity issues. It was good to have a constant flow of rain for a change.

Hmmmm.... so there is a huge storm coming that can cause massive devistation and right next door is a nuclear accident waiting to happen. Sounds like fun!

In Illinois, they build them on fault lines to keep everyone around here worried. I think they also used the same design as the one in Japan. Very reassuring.

I can assure you that the plant in Russelville is in no immediate danger. Also, our only earthquakes are in fracking areas (~40 miles north of LR).
