Nope not for me. Though my wallet has slipped into a deep depression.... Where is Sigmund Freud when you need him?

I thought my 1100 watt units were big enough to handle anything I needed. That price is way too steep for my wallet.

EVGA is sending me a lot of messages but that must not be for me.

Very nice small GPU, does it work?

Not sure Duke. The 650 has the same number of CUDA cores, higher clock rate and costs $100.00 LESS!

OK all you nVidia Gurus, what gives...???

Err...the 650 has 384 cores. The 660 has 960 cores

Unfortunately this is a matter of testing and RAM requirements. On GPUGRID the 570 was the bang-for-buck card, on PG at start too (when they payed well), but later it was the 560Ti. Most of those cheaper cards look well but save on memory bandwidth. I reckon this really matters for some projects and for some less. Since I am almost certain I need something for POEM, I am really sceptically about getting a thing with reduced memory bandwidth.

After all, the 680 has most GFLOP/watt TDP. If it's worth the up-pricing is next question...I'd check the project forums you want to get it on.

This 650 has a real decent price for 2Giga memory and maybe could run Milky or GPUGrid what I can not do with the the ATI (HD5770) that was my question in fact. It seems so small for a decent crunching but size can be a mistake of judgement and the same is about price some expensive GPUs don't give what is expected from them.

None of the Nvidia 600 series is good at MW or anything requiring double precision. They can all do it, sure. But they are so crippled you could probably work out the answer with pencil and paper faster. Nvidia GPUs are a waste of electricity putting them on MW. AMD is the way to go there, though there are some older AMD (ATI) GPUs that won't do double precision. If you really want to do MW, buy a newer AMD, not an Nvidia.

And in case this was passed over:

Thanks to all for the informations. I think I will stay a bit more with my GPU and go to a quad on the next money expense. I just can not shoot to all sides.
