For socket FM2, AMD has released their brand new A10 Trinity CPUs. So much effort has been put into their on-die GPU that their regular processing cores should almost not even be on the chip. This is why Intel isn't trying very hard with Haswell.

Really AMD? *sigh*

Try again. :))

Lord, I once had the Athlon 1400. A cooking plate, but almost the fastest CPU of the world, there was one highly expensive AMD just a tiny bit above it... sad. Otherwise by now we would have Intel 8 real cores + HT flooding the desktop market. Tired of the blah blah when they will come. :D

To make matters worse, the brand new A10s are still 32nm, still only support PCIe 2.0 and no L3 cache. However, you can get the best one, the A10-5800K, for around $125. It has a 7660D GPU built-in with 384 cores @ 800MHz. *or* for that same $125 (actually $117 after rebate + shipping) you can get this GPU with 640 cores @ 1000MHz (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127687). Tough decision, i know :)
