I'm looking for a low power, low cost motherboard/CPU combo and looking at two different boards for the same CPU. I'm wondering which would be the better option for the CPU I've chosen or if I should look at a different board somewhere else. Also, since I'm probably not going to be able to find the right board with a PATA connector, I'll probably need to get a budget SATA drive.

Here's the CPU I'm looking at:

And the two boards I'm trying to decide between:

I'm planning on using it with DDR3 1333 memory.

Any advice? Any suggestions for an SATA drive?

I'm assuming by ATA you mean IDE/PATA?

If so: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813186219

Will that work? Definitely cheaper than buying a board and a hdd both

So Trigggl, what did you decide on?

Well, after paying my bills and helping my wife out, I decided to wait until I have money.

The MSI Z77A-G45 LGA seems like a real nice Board for the Price, for BOINCing I don't see spending more for a Board that isn't going to do more than the MSI Z77A-G45 LGA will do just running BOINC. I'm mulling over whether to get a few myself & some 3770K's, Newegg has the combo for $425 as a Combo ...

It occurs to me that my Dell Insp 530 Foxconn board may have a PATA connection. I could swap the hard drives/DVD drives with the Dell.
