Sounds like its maintenance time for that lappy. Also note that many times the thermal paste used by laptop makers is not of the "High Performance" variety, like Arctic Silver 5. You may have cooked it dry. Cleaning the lappy's heatsink/cooler and applying some quality thermal paste should restore it's full crunching potential.

I am going to admit, I am a little bit of a scardy cat when it comes to servicing laptops. Thank you for the heads up, if I get up the courage, I will see what the thermal paste state appears to be in. Though the heat issues really come on big time with the GPU in use.

No I won't be tied to a group. I'm actually a MM'er, Badger, TopGun'er, BlackOp'er combined, if I was a True MM'er I would have many of my Projects higher than they are. All I've ever tried to do is get to 100k at each Project, anything after that was just by accident or from running a Challenge. Even the Projects I have a Billion or more in was never a intentional thing, the Project just Paid that good & I just kept running it for nothing but the Credit & never to get to a certain Level ...

That is so true, I made 50K on WUProp also on 2 March of this year. after three years of direct crunching on one machine and sometimes with another two. It was a long crunching. Congratulations Al.

A Maxwell is a milestone category that you have at least half as many as the leader. Zombie has 119 projects with 50k, so I needed 60 to be at least half. Zombie has 118 projects with 100k, so I'll need 59 projects of 100k to get a Maxwell for 100k.

Once you get above projects of 1M, Mumps puts them out of reach. He has 45 projects of 2.5M. I would need 23 projects of 2.5M to get a Maxwell there. There aren't that many GPU projects. Zombie doesn't even have a Maxwell in that category.

There are a limited number of projects, so it's impossible in most cases to reach the leaders in milestones. Some projects they have credits in have shut down. There are enough projects to reach half-way, though, so that's what I'm aiming for.

My next Maxwell will probably be reached at 10M. Mumps hasn't put that one out of reach yet.
