Also if you're using Nvidia GPUs, it's good to start early so the seti server can determine which cuda version runs best on your system. It was supposed to do that all along but there was a bug they recently fixed.

Well yeah, if you are going to use stock apps. But don't do that!

Use the Lunatics (http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php) optimized apps. They are available for CPU, ATI/AMD, and nVidia....and MUCH faster than the stock apps.

But the best way to optimize your apps, for windows machines, is the all-in-one installer (http://www.arkayn.us/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=9b10b7271446ac228a13a864238031 d9&), which installs the Lunatics apps via simple GUI. It's just too easy.

And if you want to fiddle with the number of concurrent tasks, and CPU reservation, you can use app_config.xml along with app_info.xml just fine.

Ooo! That sounds like a challenge! Tool bad I'm split with trying to make first to #1 at BitCoin Utopia, so I have only my nvidia cards for this.

Oh! A tip for folks participating in the challenge: There are two different sub-projects at SETI@home: MulitBeam (aka SETI@home v7), and AP (AstroPulse v6). Both pay about the same credits. But AP run time is HUGE compared to MB. And this project requires a quorum. So stick to MB/v7 for a quicker quorum validation.

FYI, they are out of AP tasks. ATI cards have an advantage at the AP stuff.

On the other hand, this project requires a quorum. So if you are looking for faster validation for the challenge, you want to avoid AP anyway, due to the much longer run time.

Searcher you are doing a great job in advertising the event. However, we have a problem that I can not say too much about. It t relates to contacting all our members. One other thing that bothers me. The event is not included in the Team Challenges list in statistical sites like BOINCStats and everyone needs to register at your site. To most set and forget users, that is a big ask. Keep up the good work.

yesthe Registration by itself is the USP of the Wow!-Event. And we know it's difficult for Teams like SETI.USA, SG or L'AF to contact these set and forget users. But we discussed this Point internally many times. Our aim is to get also the small Teams and the single crunchers (probably more than 75% of current represented Teams wouldn't take part in a S@H-Team-Event). So the SG-Wow!-Event will by also in the future this special Kind of Event.
But I'll post here also in the future and try to goad SETI.USA.

I suppose it makes a difference, but any gpu during the summer is too hot. Tried running gpu’s during the day, output increased but good lawdy miss clawdy the house occupants suffered. Will limit gpus to night time. Who’s idea was it to run an event with gpu’s during the summer? Masochist.

Sorry guys, I am letting the team down. Been having Network issues for the last two days. Troubleshooting was not easy as it was a transient error good for a little while than no internet. thought by all my checks that it was the Cable Modem but the tech assured me that it is working OK. I am still not convinced but I have brought a new router since that is the cheapest part of the problem and we will go from there. In the process of setting it up now. Than if all OK, I have to catch up...

The main problem is our Seti crunchers usually don't come to the Forum, don't post and don't read. Unfortunately I am still out of crunching but I hope not for long.

I know E-30 20/30K is a lot for Seti. I never got near that.

What I wanted to say, it was we have 990 crunchers with credit for today (and much more for yesterday) and only 17 are on WOW.

Is this forum open to public view? Because maybe some don't enter or register in the forum but at least read it as guests.

I have tried to bring them and join us in here but I failed. I will try again.

we are in a solid 4th now if we had about 5 more people we could take 3 back again if they posted some good numbers.
i am going to hit 250 in the next 2 days that a lot for me even if i have to go get my army bud to get it going he only does updates once a day so its hard for him to max out his computer he runs out of gpu units every time.

I like KWSN they are a very fine team and I desire for all of them the best.

I have posted for a time on their forum. I know most of them and have friendly relations with the ones I know better. Phil (Gemjunkie) is a good friend and was helping us on a lot of our challenges but there are more much more of very fine persons.

We have now 18 and we must go to 25. Mike knew everyone and could make a call of duty. Where are you my friend?

I will post on Duke the menace also.

Doing the best I can, guys. I had the XEONs cranked up all weekend, and will turn them back on this afternoon at the office. Everything is cranked 24/ on SETI right now. And yeah - even 30K is a lot for SETI per day! :)
