Hi!

Now I have made some workunits for terracoin mining. You'll distuinguish the terracoin workunits from bitcoin workunits by the letters TRC in the workunit name "wu_TRC_V5_100_"...

The problem: They take 4-6 times as long to run, but pay the same as the normal tasks. So if you are concerned about credits, this is a problem. Also, these TRC tasks use the same app, so you can't avoid them via app selection.

I am trying hard to be the first to 100M, so I can't just stay away until this gets resolved. But if you are not worried about things like that, and you are worried about credits, then stay away for now.

Thanks for the update- I updated my drivers yesterday and made a minor hardware change, then noticed WU times went up 6x! I thought I'd really screwed something up-

I'm going to finish out my 5 million on some 20 Share work units and roll off until they figure this out. I had one WU go almost 13 hours last night; most are taking 90 to 180 minutes where they used to be 20 to 30.

I'm still having problem with the Wu's taking to long to run, had a 20 Unit running over 7 Min's & still running so I Aborted it, suspended Project for now ...

This project has the same old problem that the other bitcoin project had, where some tasks will drop to zero GPU load, and then run forever. I use BOINCtasks to suspend any tasks over x minutes.

The GPU shows between 96% & 99% Usage but the Wu's run Forever ... What ATI Driver are you using, I think I'm still running 12.10 but not sure ... I'll try your Driver Version tomorrow if different than mine & see what happens ...

I Installed the 13.4 Drivers on 1 Box & the 20 Share Wu's seem to run okay now but the 100 Share Wu's all Error out in a few Sec's of starting ...

I should also note, the hanging problem happens to me only on AMD GPUs, and even then, only on multi-GPU machines.

My AMD Box's are just Single GPU Box's, have the Wu's running on 2 Box's okay now, just the 20 Share Wu's though, trouble is now I can't get any new Wu's to either Box ... :rolleyes:

I'm 22k away from the 25 Million Mark & can't get work ... :rolleyes::rolleyes: ... According to the Server Status they only have the 100 Share Wu's left right now, I'm not running them though because of the credit's & they error out on me anyway ... I just tried 3 more of the 100 Share Wu's & all 3 Erred at about the 5-6 Second mark ...

I'm running 2 5850s with Catalyst 13.4 on a Vista x64 machine - it currently has a 100 Share WU hanging. I probably won't get to it until Monday morning, so there goes a weekend of crunching for that GPU! I should have known better to leave it running BU with all the issues over the last few days, but I wanted to see if the 100 Share credit issue was fixed. My bad-

Things seem to be working better for me now. I'm running the 20 shares in 2.75 minutes or less for 1200 credits and no hung wus. :)

Well JPM, I've pretty much always been running BU on my 5890 card, so I wasn't aware that it couldn't run them at all. :)

And, if I remember right, FourOh is using a Dual 5850 setup on his.

My one complaint is they stopped distributing Linux tasks a while ago, so I can't get as much running on the project as I'd like... I should probably mention that on their Fora at some point. :rolleyes:

Hmmm I remember reading about in their forums and my 5870 wouldn't work on any task, short or long. Must need a newer driver then since I'm still using 12.10

So i updated the driver to 13.4. Now the Wu's actually have a run time that ticks away. However, 100% nothing is happening. GPU usage sits at 0%, clock speed stays idled down to 137MHz. 20 share or 100 share makes no difference. There are a few threads on their forums now about non-7000 series cards having problems, but i can't determine any differences between what i have setup and what the people that have had some luck have setup. *shrug* Maybe i should just upgrade and be done with the hassle.

On my HD 5xxx rig, I first installed 12.1, then APP SDK, then 12.6 over that. I later installed 13.4, but ran into trouble with some WUs so I reverted to 12.6. I also reset the project each time I change drivers. It is running fine now, and the yield is close to what it was before the terracoin WUs were introduced: close to 350k/day for each GPU. I'm starting to see a bit of the hanging wus again. Managed to catch a #5 20 share that had only gotten to 1 hr 11 min. I managed to get to 100.88 hrs on that app. I think I'm done with bitcoin because I don't seem to have the patience.
