Yes, I saw CPU-G, but was unable to get anything going on it at all. The point of this topic is I have another old Dell box that I put Ubunutu on it awhile ago.

This is the desktop in question: http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=hostbycpid&cpid=0ab9c8ed176813f25cbf3cda3fc00aff

I am trying to do the same thing to it as I did my old Xp box, where I upgraded the power supply based on help here. Then added a GeForce GT 430 GPU.

So since I have two more GeForce GT 430's new in box, (because the new PSU on the old Xp box was strong enough for one 430, but maybe not strong enough for two and maybe the board just doesn't like it) I feel that it would be great to know if it is just a PSU upgrade on the above linked Ubuntu box, and if it will take the GeForce GT 430 (or two). Yes, I tried starting the machine with one 430 in it on the OEM power supply and no luck. As I see it, $40 for a new PSU and drop in the 430, it would be worth it for pinch more horsepower on this team.

No sorry demin. CPU-Z is a Windows only app. But I do remember posting about a Linux OC util that may help but I'll have to dig it up.

As to the Dell GPU power issue, we would need the Dell series Name/Model to better answer that question.

Ok, I will dig it up, but the machine was frankensteined a while back, if I remember correctly. I might need to see the board # as I am not positive if it is original to the box or not.

Shame CPU-G wouldn't work like a couple pages said. :(

In Ubuntu 13.04, run the command "sensors" from a terminal to see the temps. I use top or htop to see cpu utilization.

Okay, I found the utility I was thinking of but, it turns out it's a GPU OC utility. And it only works/worked on Radeon cards. Anyhoot it's called AMDOverdriveCtrl and can be found (Here (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=ODk1Ng))

I did check on CPU-G and discovered there are two versions of it, one for 32-bit CPUs and the other for 64-bit (Here (http://gtk-apps.org/content/show.php/CPU-G?content=113796)). Which one did you install?

I have to check, thanks for looking as I wasn't aware of different versions.
