To clarify some things. Bitcoin miner are blacklisted by most of the antivirus programs and dont let it run on your computer. To run it except the BOINC folder or the cgminer file from realtime protection and scan. The program is safe to run. Also check your firewall to let the program communicate with the server pools. It needs a permanent internet connection.-Reb
