That should work just fine, Cappy. Get one of the newer drivers installed, make sure you have a monitor (or dummy plug) in both cards, and make sure you have an up-to-date client. Then it should work quite well for you. Glad to see you back!

well i tried,,, updated drivers,,, computer seen the 4850,,,, extended the monitors,,,

started crunching ,, 2 minutes in and machine restart all by itself...

try again,, same results..... re-install drivers,,, go through the whole 9 yards again,,,

start crunching ,,,, 2 minutes in and auto restart... take card out..... and everything is fine.

What driver version, OS, BOINC version, etc are you rocking in this box?

Cappy

XP 64 Pro, latest Boinc version, and 10.12 on the ATI Drivers.

Huh. I'd say uninstall the driver, run Driver Sweeper (http://phyxion.net/), reinstall 10.10 for the driver (I've had issues with 10.12, though others haven't). If that doesn't work, someone else is going to have to come along and figure it out.

lol no biggie,,, just figured it was sitting here,,, didnt want to add another machine because of power issues and me not having enough power to run the electric heaters and more crunchers till march atleast when i put the new 200 amp box in :)

ill just plug aaway with what i have for now :) and go from there ....

Look at the brigth side...

You got a instant replacement! :p

Anyway...You could try to put those on E-Bay and go for 1 bigger card....

OK. If either card works alone in your system (Please test) then the problem is not the cards.
First possibility: Bad or underpowered PSU. Recommend 750W or higher.
Second possibility: Bad or dieing motherboard.

nah thats not it,, just put a brand new 800w PS in it,,, thats how im able to talk to you guys :)

and i think the problem is all my cards are double slot cards,,, couldnt get both cards in the Blue PCI-e 16x slots so i move the one card over to a PCI-e slot which prolly wont handle the data input so it crashs the system :(

need single slot cards and i would be fine i bet :)

but everything they sell now a-days are double slot cards :(

oh well on to the next venture :) in a couple of months ill be able to add a few machines

that i cant add right now because of power issues..... when the 200 amp breaker box

goes in in about 2 months all will be right in the world once again :)
