Ok everyone,
I am running 3 projects WU, SETI, and ROSETTA on my laptop my CPU is running at 100% 24 hrs. a day
1. Is this to much for my laptop
2. If so what should I do
What is the best projects to run
What type of system (I want to have a system just for crunching) should I get from
1. Low/Price
2. Medium/Price
3. High/Price
Thanks
No, it's not too much for a laptop. I've got 2 running 24/7, but I do pull the batteries and run them plugged in to AC. Kills the battery if you don't. As for the Low, Medium and High priced systems. Define Low, Medium and High. It's different for everyone.

Good power supply ! , 600W or about 900W for 2 GraphicCards. ( I use Aerocool 1200W )
4+SMT Intel 4770k (3770k) , AMD uses too much electricity.
MSI Mainboards with 2 x PCIe 16 lanes are best in price in my opinion.
Ati 7970 or 280x , 7950 is ok too but it gets hard to find them. You can buy your second GPU later.
I use Big Towers cause of the air flow and the length of high performance graphic cards.
... and welcome to the team.

Thanks so much Conf and others. I will pass this on to my computer guy and get things moving
Thanks
For me there are 2 things I look at to define a good project. 1 do I have less than 2.5 million credits, if so then it is a good project. That means most are good. 2 is there some kind of team activity on a project, if so then that is probably a good project. Then I just have to decide which one I want to run next. :) that is the way I look at CPU Projects. GPU is the same other than it is do I have less than 250 million credits. So really my goals are to get CPU projects to 2.5M and GPU to 250M. Of course any number will work for goals, remember I have been doing this sense Nov 1999. :)
