No! MMs are unchanged. If you had (say) 25 100ks, you still have 25 100ks. This one project exploding makes absolutely no difference to your MM standings. It does not make it any harder or easier to get that 26th. And everyone has the same amount of work to get to 26. It doesn't matter what individual projects pay comported to others. That is why MMs are the right way to measure performance (IMO).

What has been devalued is the "total cross-project credits". But that number has always been meaningless.

I probably used the wrong term then. I was talking about overall score as a mega milestone in itself. Your way of thinking is probably the most correct way. Trouble is when people see overall score, that's where their eyes go.

It's like reading a car magazine. All of the stats listed, but all anyone really cares look at is 0 to 60 :D

I passed from 100M and I am now on 140M on combined and I am now on 25th position on BU almost getting 50M on the project.

It is really impressive the amazing speed I have been climbing, I almost feel guilty of making half of my all credit made along all this years crunching Boinc.

My BIG thank you to Myshortpencil that is helping me pushing BU project at this very impressive rate.

NCI taks to not allocate any CPU threads. Like the WUPROP task. That is NCI. So you can run an NCI task in addition to your full set of CPU tasks. For example, you can run 8 prime grid tasks on your 8-thread i7, PLUS you can run the WUPROP task in parallel, without any loss of performance to your PG tasks. So those WUPROP credits are "free". They do not "cost" lost CPU crunching at other CPU or GPU tasks. See?

The ALX sub-project at Oproject is NCI like WUPROP. You crunch those tasks without any impact to your normal CPU/GPU workload. So any credits received there are FREE. Everyone should be crunching ALX, just like wuprop, quake catcher (if you have the HW), radioactive (if you have the HW), etc.

I've been running OProject ALX since you posted about it a couple weeks ago. I was worried that something was wrong, because as of yesterday I had over 2000 pending tasks with no valid/invalid... but today a few started validating!

The app has a quirk - on most computers the ALX task completes before the project back-off time of 10 minutes. So when BOINC requests a new task, the back-off gets reset creating a fair amount of down time. Sometimes it gets another WU on its own, sometimes I have to manually update. Probably best to put BOINC Updater on this with an interval of 15 minutes or so?
