Anyone have more specifics about the changes to CPU and GPU scheduling and work-fetch in 7.2.39 as reported at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Release_Notes ?

Maybe they made it work correctly =)) Wouldn't it be nice if when you hit Update it actually did what you asked rather than what it wants to do!

Going to update systems to it tomorrow. I will let you know if they are any issues with it.

As for changes you asked about There is more here: https://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thread.php?id=8378&postid=52011#52198

"We've released version 7.2.39 of BOINC.

Changes include:

- Revert back to the original CPU throttling scheme.
To test: use CPU throttling and compare results with 7.2.33 or older."

and

"Preliminary Change Log 7.2.38 --> 7.2.39:
• client: <cpu_sched> shouldn't show suspend/resume msgs for CPU throttling.

• client: fix bugs in accounting elapsed time.

• client: don't use sub-second CPU throttling.

The developer forgot that the wrapper has a 1-second poll for suspend and resume, so sub-second throttling won't work properly for wrapper apps. Revert to a variant of the old scheme, in which the min of the suspended and resumed periods is 1 sec. Also, fix task start/suspend/resume log messages."

And I see 7.2.42 was released for Windows today already...

I usually wait for a few versions before Updating the Client so since I just did .39 I'll skip this one for now ... :)

On second thought I may have to switch to .42, at least on the Box's that have Finished YoYo Wu;s, I read where the .39 is causing Upload Problems to some Projects ... Don't see it on any sites yet though

Okay Thanks Z, Downloading it now, except for 3 Box's as long as the Pog's Upload okay I'll wait until after the Pog's Challenge to Update, didn't have any problems yesterday uploading Pog's Wu's so I should be okay there. But I have 3 Box with Finished YoYo's on them, if they don't Upload I'll Update those 3 Box's to .42 ...

Went ahead & installed .42, I figured what the heck it only takes a few min's on each Box to do it, so I'll find out tonight if the .42 version will upload the YoYo Wu's ...
