The forums have seen a lot of spam recently. Because of this I've had to set things to prevent posting to forums. Right now to post to the forums you need at least 1 credit (from work units), or need at least one event entered via the new interface (it doesn't need to be validated, you just need to have one). Hopefully this will prevent spam accounts from making junk posts.
