During the last week we have imported about 4 million new proteins from the databases Uniprot and RefSeq into SIMAP.The workunits of these sequences will be available from Sun, Aug 10 . We expect about two months of continuous work for SIMAP.Best regards and thanks a lot for crunching SIMAP,Thomas

Let's go out and prove them wrong! I don't expect it will take no two months. :)

You said it before I did but It was my idea, word for word...

*sigh* 06:00 UTC has come and gone. Still no work in queue. I've got most of my systems with empty caches waiting to hit hard first sign of work. See you all there!

Ditto on the Sigh... :(
Hmmm, it's not like this project to miss a release. At least as my memory recalls.

The guns are silent here as well. Personally, I think Willy was a bit premature in scheduling the challenge at the exact second they said there would be work. Give a day of grace period, let some RAC build up, we all know how SIMAP is. If they say there will be work at 6:00 UTC on a SUNDAY, he should have asked himself how realistic of a deadline that was.

See you when the fun begins...

Now it's August 15th. Quick, Willie, set it for 6:00 UTC on that date, I'm sure they'll hit it.

I wish they'd make up their minds.

IIRC, historically, their estimate for work availability has always been close, but not exact. I was expecting a small delay at the start. :)

Yeah, it was the posting of "October" then "August 15" during the wee hours that had me thinking the worst. Still a trickle, but a steady one now. I went to sleep while everyone else got work units.

Touché

Trying to make up for it by being up at 5:30 and madly pushing "update"

I have a couple of machines freeing up in the next 24 hours so I thought I would load some this morning also. It showed 100k+ in progress and 4 ready to send =)) I think Mumps sucked them dry!

Still am. I'm trying to be nice and starting out with a small "Additional Days" worth of cache. :) Not quite time for my next "Difficulty Level Increase" though. :) Once the demand levels off, I'll bump it again.
