It's 50-50 between wanting to start the thread for the content, and wanting to type the subject line.

But here is what it takes, as of this writing, to earn a Maxwell in the primary Mega Milestone categories. Note that I'm listing, in order, the category, how many you need to earn a Maxwell, what place you'd have to attain to earn a Maxwell, the current leader, and how many of that category the leader currently has.

For example, to earn a Maxwell in the number of projects in which you have credit, you would need 82 projects with credits, which would get you 405th place, the leader of which is zombie67, with 164.

So yeah - with the exception of the 1M category (which I know zombie curses), SETI.USA has every category cornered. Boo yah!

I'm going to continue my quest to reach it (the Maxwell) in 100k when it cools down enough outside that I'm not stressing out my struggling A/C. I might reach it (the Maxwell) by next summer.

And this is why I periodically curse zombie67/Mumps/Mr. Hankey. They make these damn Maxwells super hard to come by. The only reason I'm not cursing Ste\/e is that I don't have the firepower to play at that level...

Updated the first thread with the latest data. New fun facts: zombie67 owns all the top MM spots up to 1M, and Mumps owns them all from 2.5M to 100M. Congrats to both of them!

Hah! Oh yes...

So, a Maxwell applies to the Mega Milestone categories on Free-DC. What a Maxwell assesses is whether you have at least half of the number of the #1 person in a given category. For example, the top person (zombie67) has 139 projects with at least 100k credits. To earn a Maxwell in this category, you would need at least 70 projects (139/2 = 69.5, rounded up).

It's named after me because I knew I could never compete with the top folks, but I though I might be able to get half of what the top folks could earn.
