Completely unrelated to crunching, but I have just been promoted at work. I've only been working here for 7 months, but I have been promoted to the Manager of Research & Development (at an employment testing company). Not only am I super happy about the promotion, but my current boss is the owner and has been running R&D for ~30 years. She's near retirement, and is specifically grooming me to be her replacement. So I'm getting put in charge of the creation and maintenance of all of our products.

Needless to say, I'm really excited. And only slightly terrified... :p

Thanks! Me too. Having been fired from my last job, it was great to be promoted (and really quickly, at that). It was even better to hear my boss say about my former employers "Yeah, I just dismissed that because I don't think they're very smart."
