Well the 1st season of the latest incarnation of the Doctor, Peter Capaldi, aired last Saturday. So what did you think of him? For me, he had to grow on me as I found him to be a tad lackluster. But after the 3rd episode I realized it was more so that the writing was flat, not so much the actor. Then over the next few weeks the writing, at least for me, picked up a notch. Still, I feel the previous 3 seasons were much better overall.

Anyhoot, please add your perspective. I'm very interested to read what everyone else thinks.

I for one liked the one before him. More humor and emotion. Peter is like a soap show gone bad. But hey that's my opinion.

I've wanted to like Peter Capaldi, but so far he hasn't done it for me. Occasionally but not overall. I can't stand the love/hate relationship with Clara either.

David and Matt are like kids that never grew up.
Sometimes naïve, sometimes emotional, sometimes arrogant.
All the while, seeming forever young.

IMO total fail.. the writing doesn't fit him at all and just comes off odd with no cohesion but what do I know i'm not an expert.
