Recently I got a new phone, a OnePlus One http://www.gsmarena.com/oneplus_one-6327.php. I immediately installed the Berkley BOINC app on it and it runs, AFAIK, okay. I recently tried the nativeboinc app and i see it gives me tons more preferences, more related to a phone/tablet.

There are a few options that seem to be redundant in regards to power saving, screen activity, and cpu-underclocking. I don't want the screen to stay on but I'd also like it to not go into a low power state when the screen is off. I have cpu-z on the phone and well of course i can see it's working while I'm looking at it but I have no idea what kind of state the phone goes into while the screen goes off. Any experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I found that BOINC had a pretty negative effect on the battery - I actually had to take BOINC off both mine and my wife's phone because after a couple months, the battery was shot. I ended up having to replace both batteries. I literally just today set BOINC back up on the phones (we upgraded, so I put it on the old phones, as I don't care about them anymore).

Asteroids and Collatz pay pretty well. They're great for WUProp credits, hours on the few projects that have apps written, and QCN credits. But you're not going to be blown away.

From the way it sounds, keeping the screen on is optional, and it will prevent sleep mode either way.

I just added QCN to my fone as it doesn't use much power so no strain on the battery. Mine is non-replaceable.

If you're looking for hours, you can add WUProp and QCN Continual as well - but you'll probably have to add those via URL.

Four of the quake projects have android apps. I run all 4 plus CPU tasks and wuprop.

Which are the other two? Last time I ran it, there was just QCN and its continual counterpart...

Sorry but i don't see how to add a project via URL. Do you use BAM to do that on an Android?

You can, but I'm not a BAM user.

If you can get to the Projects display where it lists what projects you're running, there are three vertical dots in the upper right corner. Tap that, and it will bring up an option to add projects via URL (it is black text on dark blue background and is annoyingly difficult to see). Once there, you should be able to follow instructions.

I use BOINCtasks to manage my machines, including my android device.

The Android 5 ARM apps are now working on Collatz.
