Hey all. Sorry I haven't been around much. On 4/23 I broke the tibia and fibula in my left leg during Taekwondo practice. I have basically been bed ridden since then after some orthopedic surgery. I don't even know if my machines are running as they live in the basement and I can't manage stairs yet. I'm gonna try to get the hubby to help me out, for the pentathlon, but he isn't an enthusiast like me so no promises.

Holy cow. You're supposed to break boards and bricks, not legs!! You just need 1 computer upstairs with Boinc Tasks installed on it, or VNC software. Best wishes for a painless recovery :)

MSP stole my comment, but again, you break the board, not the other way around. That had to hurt! Ouch! I guess when you heal we'll know who not to mess with.

Wow, you broke the tibia too?! :( That is a serious break, usually just the fibula goes. Sure hope you mend well and we're all going to be rooting for you! :o

Traditional Pasta Carbonara to help forget broken legs.
http://img.stb.s-msn.com/usappex/tenant/amp/entityid/AA6z6WY/_h300_w300_m5_bwhite.jpg

Ingredients

500 g spaghetti noodles
1 tablespoon (soup) olive oil
8 rashers of bacon, bites (200 g)
1 tablespoon (soup) olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
4 tablespoons (soup) (60 ml) dry white wine (optional)
4 beaten eggs
1/2 cup (40 g) grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper freshly ground black to taste
2 tablespoons (soup) chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons (soup) grated Parmesan cheese

Preparation

1 In a large saucepan, cook the spaghetti in salted water until al dente. Drain, mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil and set aside.

2 While the pasta cooking, make the sauce. In a pan, fry the chopped bacon. When the bacon is crispy, drain it on paper towels and set aside 2 tablespoons of the fat. That same pan, put 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Saute onion in hot oil. Then cook garlic for 1 minute or more. If you want, add the wine and let it on the fire for a minute.

3 Put the bacon back into the pan with the garlic and onion. Add the cooked and drained spaghetti. Mix the pasta well, to warm it up. If the pasta is dry or sticking, drizzle it with olive oil. Add the beaten egg. Cook, always mixing with a noodle gripper until the egg is almost cooked. Quickly, put 50g of parmesan cheese and mix. Add salt and pepper to taste (remember that bacon and Parmesan are already well salted).

4 Sprinkle the pasta with chopped parsley. Serve immediately, serving the grated cheese on the spot.

Sorry if any of the translation is not correct, as usual just ask what it means artemis, we need you well and strong.

... and Lemon Pie with Chocolate

Ingredients

200g of crushed chocolate biscuit
3 tablespoons (soup) unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 package dry coconut flakes
1 gelatin colorless tasteless powder (12g)
4 egg yolks
½ cup (tea) lemon juice
1 cup (tea) sugar
1/2 teaspoon (tablespoons) lemon zest
1 cup (tea) ice cream whipping cream
4 egg whites
Syrup Chocolate:
1/2 cup (tea) chopped milk chocolate
1/2 cup (tea) of milk
2 tablespoons (soup) of sugar cane molasses

Preparation

1 Mix the crushed biscuit with butter and line the bottom of a round form of removable rim. Reserve. Place the dried coconut flakes in a saucepan over low heat, stirring, until golden brown. Reserve. Hydrate the gelatin in five tablespoons (soup) of water and set aside. In a saucepan, place the egg yolks, lemon juice and half the sugar. Take the heat and stir until thickened slightly. Turn off and stir in the gelatin, stirring until dissolved. When cool, add the lemon zest and half the coconut flakes. Beat the cold whipping cream whipped to the point and set aside in refrigerator. Beat the egg whites and add the remaining sugar gradually. Mix the lemon cream with whipped cream and egg whites gently and pour into the lined shape with the cake. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until the mousse is firm. Remove from pan, decorate with remaining coconut and serve cold.

2 Chocolate Syrup:

3 Heat the chocolate mixed with milk and molasses until completely melted. Let cool and serve with the pie.

It is so sad I love to cook but I can't do much of anything with crutches taking up my hands.

I did finally, today got teamviewer set up on that machine and I can access it from my work laptop (which I have upstairs with me in bed and doesn't run boinc).
I did start world community grid and LHC. So a day and a half I can contribute to the pentathlon!

Excellent! LHC only would be nice, but both of those projects are active, so your timing is good. :)

Score! :) Every core counts, Thanks Artemis. I hope you get well soon and go back to breaking other things...like boards instead. :D ;)

thanks all I think the only credit I got on the pentathlon was 1.36 credits for one non-pending LHC. Sorry.
I will try to contribute to other challenges soon though! And there is always next year.
One of these days I will get my hubby to run his computer with the good gpus again too.
