This is Kimber. She’s an 8 year old Golden Retriever mix. Her front paws are HUGE for her size.

I adopted her on Saturday. I am her second rescue. She and another golden were rescued as a pair years ago. Her mate died from heart problems. The family said she became destructive and so they crated her 24/7. For years. As if that is a solution for any dog. Anyway, through an amazing set of coincidences, the family agreed to give her up, and I found out about it via a foster that had her for about a week. All word of mouth.

She is not used to being able to move around at will. Like she is in an invisible crate. She plops down in a spot unless I move around and encourage her to move with me. But she is slowly starting to realize her freedom. Soon she will realize she can just walk around the house, and even go outside through the dog doors any time she likes. She LOVES walks.

Awesome!! Love seeing dogs rescued, we have an American Bulldog we rescued who had been chained up outside with another dog for the first few years of her life, she is the sweetest dog I've ever known.
