Hey,

I am "up" for a "new" phone at work.

My needs are: Text, calls, sync work calendar and sometimes email. Our service runs through a Exchange server.

These are my choises:

I have no influence on putting some extra $ into it, so that I could choose any other phone. My personal phone is android, but I am leaning towards the Lumia - since it would probably work better with Exchange.

What do you think??

Android phones work with exchange:

Based on that, go android. Windows phones have extremely limited apps available.

Thanks for the reccomendations Zombie.

The arguement for the Windows phone, is that I am actually not going to be using any apps at all. And the Android phone they are offering me, is like......6 years old!?!

What are the minimum requirements for that? Because I have an REALLY old android phone laying - and do absolutely nothing. But itīs only a single-core.

OS Android OS, v2.3 (Gingerbread)
CPU 800 MHz Marvell MG2

If U going to run Boinc on an android, get a tablet. $129 at walmart, $29 for a 32 gig memory stick. Thats what I did. Runs most projects that have an android app. Boinc would be whatever Berkley suggests at the time.

As far as I know, any android phone will crunch. I am crunching on a galaxy S3, released 2012, so it's 4 years old. Your's is only one year older. Can you not upgrade the OS on yours?

With only one core, yours will be able to run only one task at a time. But that is still more than none. :D If you already have this phone, just give it a try.

The BOINC app is i the google play store. Free of course.

Edit: I just looked up the app on the BOINC site. It says "Android version 4.1 and later for ARM, MIPS, or x86". So it looks like you need to upgrade the OS.

You could try the Native Boinc app. Not sure about the restrictions. The normal app won't crunch on my phone. Tried this one and it works for some projects.
