The seventh BOINC Pentathlon is around the corner. As usual, SETI.Germany invites all BOINC teams to find out which team copes best with the challenges of five disciplines at five projects between May 5 and May 19.

While there are no major rule changes this year, it is ensured that there will be only one winner after the shared gold medal last year. Furthermore, the Pentathlon pages https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pentathlon/ have undergone an optical refresh, all the rules and later on the stats are there, as well. Many questions are answered in the FAQ: https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pentathlon/27_en_FAQ.html

Each team that wants to participate can sign up and enter four project suggestions using this registration: https://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pentathlon/anmeldung.php form until April 27. Later registration is possible until May 2, but without the possibility of suggesting projects.

Therefore, explore the interest within your team and sign up. We're looking forward to your participation in the BOINC Pentathlon!

Many Greetings: Terminator

Yeah......and it's already too hot to run the gpus here. :( I have a full set of amd and nvidia just foaming at the mouth to find out which would be the better runner on whatever is picked. Shame I don't have enough systems to run all of them. Even bigger shame I burned out my main. Having to mine for loose change to get a replacement P55 mobo since it's an income that isn't monitored by the income police here.

Well I think dcushing has said it all, and I agree. I will not waste my 4 cores on a wingman =))

I can donate 1 core to the cause. Use my other 3 cores to play Candy Crush :D

That's not far from the truth for me. 2 boxes 4 cores, 1 box 2 cores. Not a happy camper.

EDIT -- Lost another box. Down to 6 cores and 2 gpus. I'm also down to 1 r-box. Flood took out what I was working on. Looks like I'm out for this year.

Dear fellow crunchers,

unfortunately, the BOINC Pentathlon 2016 has to be postponed for a month after a hacker had caused havoc on the server and the SETI.Germany website had been offline for a week. Therefore, the new schedule is:

Start: 05 June 2016, 0:00 UTC
End: 19 June 2016, 0:00 UTC

The registration deadline for all teams that want to participate has been adjusted accordingly: Project suggestions are now accepted until 28 May. The registration form is working again. All teams which had already signed up should still be on the list of registered teams.

There will be additional efforts during the next weeks to recover the SETI.Germany website completely, thorough functionality testing of the Pentathlon pages will also be performed again. The postponement makes sure that there is ample time for our efforts and for those teams which could not sign up in time due to the server downtime to sign up.

We apologize for this incident and the postponement, but are still looking forward to run a thrilling BOINC Pentathlon with you a month later.

So....there's that
