Alright, here we go team! Very long story made short, I now have two AMD Opteron 6128 processors and an ASUS KGPE-16 G34 motherboard that I desperately want to overclock in anyway possible.

Can we use this thread to post suggestions or ideas about how to actually do this?

So far, I have located a program called K10stat (http://k10stat.dejadomain.com/) that is supposed to do this.

K10STAT.exe -loadprofile:1 -nowindow

and these commands can be used:
-enabletlbcache
-disabletlbcache

not sure about these i saw:
-unlimit
-enable309
-disable309
dont know if 309 belongs to the command.

Here are the results that someone else obtained with Kstat:

Holy Toledo Batman! That is some serious CPU power in that rig! ;)
What's the BIOS like on that board? Can you O/C it by raising the FSB manually in the BIOS? Are those Opterons "locked" multiplier cores or unlocked?

PS - you are putting that rig on AndrOINC or AQUA, right? :D ;)

If my information is correct you cannot OC that CPU. The reason the one in the link OC'd is because it was an engineering sample. Usually E.S's are not restricted like their retail counterparts. If I'm off-base then I'm sure one of the team Guru's will correct me.... :P

Well like Fire$torm has already wisely noted, that rig in the screenshot was an ES that allows for multiplier changing.

The screenshot still shows that these processors are leaving a LOT OF POWER on untouched. I want to tap into this with just small overclocks to unleash the ANDROINC beast.

For example:
2 units of AMD Opteron 6128 G34 = 16 cpu cores x 2.0Ghz = 32.0Ghz total crunching power.

Overclock of just 500Mhz:
2 units of AMD Opteron 6128 G34 = 16 cpu cores x 2.5Ghz = 40.0Ghz total crunching power!

Well...if he can increase the FSB, then ANY CPU will "have to" O/C :D
That's why I'm curious about the BIOS on that board - does it allow for raising the FSB manually? If not, there, are some software programs that will do it once the OS loads.

Pretty sweet, some how some way its posable to unlock cores? Pretty crazy stuff you got there.

BIOS does not allow for overclocking at this time which is why I am eager to try out K10STAT.

Before I can begin on any of this, I need to get my specialized G34 heatsinks in from Thermaltake. Hope they arrive by next Wednesday. %%-

Yeah - lots of AndrOINC points on a rig like this. But, you know - it's also the kind of rig that could help turn the tide on a CPU-only challenge like PrimeGrid. ;)

That's exactly the goal. Just going to be cutting it real close to our start date. Would love to scare the other teams with a new secret weapon.

Need some machine names::confused:
WEAPON X
CRUNCHENSTEIN
AMDSAURUS
STEAMROLLER
