SETI@Home: Another probable non-detection of ET

Dr. Korpela has posted his thoughts (http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=80378) about the claimed detection of pulsed emission from extraterrestrial intelligence being beam at Earth from 234 different stars. He's not optimistic.

The Breakthrough Listen project has also posted a statement of a similarly cautious tone (https://seti.berkeley.edu/bl_sdss_seti_2016.pdf).

So, the scientists of many of the leading searches for ET are always chiming in with a very pessimistic tone whenever anyone says "Hey! Look at that! Could be ET!" ?? Whatever happened to science with an open mind towards the potential outcome? Enough of the negativity already! Give some lovin' to "the other guys!" :))
