We need SETI.USA Girl ;-)

So my wife is going back to college (at UCSB now), and as I'm checking out their campus a little, it occurs to me that we need some pull with this crowd. Each one of these thousands of students has a computer. We need to do this while they still have a computer, because I'm afraid the day might come where all they have is a tablet...but I digress.

Then I'm sitting there thinking, what the heck would "speak" to these younger generation guys? And then it hits me... you all remember back when Obama Girl was taking the media by storm with her videos and stuff? The reason it popped into my head was I'm not even into all that, YouTube and Facebook stuff, and I sure as heck did not vote for Mr. O. either time, but even I saw one of those...which probably means millions of people that didn't even care about him or the election, saw her video on YouTube!

So...can we enlist a SETI.USA Girl or something to take the media to task and get us some good press with the college crowd or something?
OK...maybe not, but never know, it might do the trick! :)

Very good thinking DrPop. May I suggest volunteering Duke Buckingham for the job like in the Army. "I need a volunteer, Duke, you will do"
Duke's livelyhood is is audio and video presentation and he has shown his tellent here on many occasions. How about it Duke? You can do it...;)

You living in Santa Barbara, DrPop? I've been living in SB for 4 years now and if we can find a girl here that is into science and computing there is a good chance that she will be extremely attractive as well :p. I'll keep my eyes open and try to get some of the girls in my classes interested in BOINC and SETI.USA.

Close - I'm down here in Ventura, and Kim is just making the commute up to UCSB on the days she has class. She's got one more year of this... :p But we have some friends up there in SB and sure enjoy it when we're there. Nice place! We really like Ventura too though, it's pretty relaxed down here by the ocean.

@Artemis8 - lol on Mumps' suggestion, and good thing you're so easy going with all of us. :D Sorry, I think you're probably the only lady on here these days, aren't you? Wish we could bring along some more, but just hasn't panned out I guess.
