Just out of curiosity, anyone know the numbers on what Nvidia cards will do in lets say....Primegrid.
Ill be more specific to start out. What would a 460 GTX put out VS a 480 GTX?

Not sure in exact credit numbers, but this post should help...
Thx Max, it was. Next dumb question (as you all know, I am full of them). Can 2 Nvidia cards run in a Crossfire MB if one of the cards has a dummy plug?
NVidia cards don't need dummy plugs (and I believe it is called SLI mode) - So I can't see why not, but it would be entirely unnecessary...
Indeed, if one has an SLI motherboard it would be in SLI if I "connected" them. Alas, I have a Crossfire motherboard (SLI is Nvidia and Crossfire is ATI) so my question is, can I run 2 nvidia cards in a Crossfire motherboard?
@ Harley. What card are you running? I mean what brand.
Calling it a CrossfireX or SLI MB is meaningless. Its just a certification. Meaning it has been tested by ATI/AMD or NVIDIA. ATI and NVIDIA build their cards to the PCIe standards. MB manufacturers use the same standards. As long as its not a no-name brand MB you’ll be Ok. In other words its just a marketing scheme.
Sweet! Thx Harley.
Because if you do, we will be pissed.Quote:

OK, OK, OK......
I guess I was just reading emotions in replies that just weren't there.
If EVER I DO irk anyone, they can always PM me and I'll lay off.
Peace.
This is true. There's no additional chip or something on a motherboard that's SLI/Xfire certified. It's just a title. Same with SLI/Xfire certified PSUs. What makes them certified? If they have a 6-pin and 8-pin power connector. That's it. Put that on a PSU and you can get it certified. As Harley said, it's just a marketing scheme.
My 580 does about 675k/day.
A little too rich for my blood but I am eyeballing the MSI GTX 570.........
This is the MSI GTX 570 I have.

Its a factory OC edition. Without touching the clocks it does 601k per day on PG. I bumped up my clocks a little and now it does 640k. The best part about this is that its cheaper than MSI's non overclocked GTX 570.

Wow. That is some serious bang for the buck. Let us hope PG NEVER lowers the credits on that Nvidia app! ;)
Anyone running a GTX470?
FYI, life expectancy of the current GPU sub-projects on PG:

Good thread but I thought this as about graphics in a corvette or something.
That's how I lure you in! >:)Quote:

And I am still looking to see if anyone is crunching with a GTX 470 and what numbers they are getting.
And what kind of credits are you getting with that card?Quote:
I've got a GT240, so if you about double it...
Bump......... I am now eyeballing this card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814133344
Anyone got any thoughts about it?
Yeah, for that price and what I think it will crunch in PG, I could not pass it up. Well, that is the last of my tax return money. :(Quote:
Good price - Will PG very well for you...
Heck yeah! That is one of the reasons (and the price) I pulled the trigger on this card. Even if I just get the Blue, it is still a great crunching card, but if I get the Black......(this is the part where I smile real big). Then again, with my luck, it will be DOA. :(Quote:
I was wondering if you saw the Newegg customer review from Buzz?
Crunch long and prosper? ;)Quote:
Sweet! So you know what I'm gonna say next, Right???
Found this today: http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/sys/2263993700.html Is this a good deal?
