So you guys never saw my post of the H220 sale (now expired)?
Edit: It's on sale again, but this time only $20 off regular price.
If you have ever been interested in Microsoft Windows Home Server 2011 64-bit, it's on sale at Newegg for $34.99 With Promo Code: EMCYTZT5635 (Link)
Later today (end of day): newegg shell shocker - AMD 280X for $400

New price will be effective at 6PM Pacific time, though it's still about $80 too high because of all the *coin miners, but you probably really won't find it cheaper anywhere else. Just checked Amazon and they're wanting $460.
Rosewell Gold 750W PSU for ~$90

Well... good to see you can start to get close to or under MSRP again, even with a few hoops, but still not quite enough to bite. Keep posting though and I'll find the right deal someday Toto! Some day. I've been trying to wait to lay hands on a card with good DP precision so I can effectively run apps like MWay. My guess is I should keep waiting for a 7970GE with its 1/4 DP cut versus the 290 with its 1/8, if I can ever find a not-melted used one at a good price again.
Or, you know, buy Tank's Titan...
Samsung EVO SSDs, lowest prices i've ever seen. Newegg also has them for similar prices: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...150_em_1p_0_ti
All capacities from 120GB to 1TB are discounted. The 250GB is now $20 cheaper than what i paid for mine during a black friday special, which was a good deal even then :/
Thanks John! I picked up a 120 to use as a boot drive on one of my crunchers.
Sorry guys but I'm still in the "Avoid this Tech" camp. MLC NAND Flash Memory has huge trade-offs in terms of longevity.
That's true, but at the rate we burn through hardware upgrades, I'm not planning on these puppies to need to last me too long. ;)
As i've mentioned before, writing 10GB/day everyday won't kill these drives for 13.7 years. I have no problem with that. As a matter of fact, i just checked and i've only written 1.81TB to the drive since installing it the first week of december. It is the main drive on my 3770K Marshal with the 4 GPUs. My actual speeds with the 250GB version are 552MB/s read, 535MB/s write. So much for those other brands whose speeds drop off after a few weeks of use. 120GB version will be a bit slower. 500GB and up will be about equal.
True but reading from any NAND also chips away at it life. And all versions of Windows are notorious for the exorbitant number of reads and writes performed even for mundane background tasks. Atm, I cannot give you any I/O stats from my SSD, as my desktop is out of action, but I now it's a lot higher then yours.... :P
No no no.... not speed. I was referring to usage as in reads and writes, to and from. I do a ton of streaming, photo editing, etc... And it all gets dumped on the SSD. Last month we almost hit Comcast's data cap of 250GB. And that's not too much higher then our average. Most of that activity is my doing. Yes I know my mini garden of crunchers accounts for some of that, but it's a relatively small percentage. Oh and btw, thankfully Comcast has had the data cap on my Uncle's account suspended for quite some time. #:-s
Al, that so reminds me of this ad: Probably have to click on it to make it readable :D ;)

Holy shit was my first reaction! And I don't know what to say about that! Wow... and thank you????
I never would forget my first SSD.

Lol well like F$, i was against the TLC NAND they use in these SSDs as well. Just seemed like a really bad idea. But then a read up alot on it, waited til a bunch of people had owned them for awhile, and finally realized they're not that bad at all. Sure the longevity is lower (13.7 years on the EVO vs. 70.2 years on the Pro series which uses MLC), but i didn't care about this for 2 reasons: 1) SATA 3 is being replaced with something faster anyway, therefore new SSDs will be even faster and make all current SSDs obsolete, regardless of what kind of NAND they use. 2) 13.7 years is still far longer than the expected life of any hard drive and i've done just fine with those for the past 33 years since i got my first computer.
And really i wasn't much of a fan of MLC NAND when it came out either, since it had a much lower longevity than SLC. But i was won over on that too :p
I couldn't help it... I've been too curious about how this little card performs, so I snagged one:

Discount Maxwell 750 Ti if anyone is looking for one and hasn't seen this.
I'm at Newegg right now picking up this 750 Ti - anyone have any orders you want me to pick up? :D
How is the 750ti vs a gtx 570? I need another card and was fixing to a used 570 for 110.00 which card should I get?
My dual 570 system will do between 485k - 500k/day/card @ considerable higher power usage. This summer I'm really thinking about cleaning up the 570s and selling them and replacing them with something that draws a lot less power...the 750ti is in the running as a replacement.
New in box, r9 270 for ~$85 http://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-2GB-GDD...-/181389537978 Newegg has this card for $219!!!

Oh crap, i just noticed the 0 history... Saw the ebay guarantee and the price and well you know, you see what you want to see. If it's legit, it's a great deal.
