Re: New "Deals and Savings" Thread
My 7970 came in yesterday. Only got to play with it for an little while. I can't believe how poorly this card does on POEM. My 5870 beats it easily with the same settings. On the other hand it does a Milkyway task in 43 seconds.
Was also surprised at the lack of any type of manual included. The included disc was useless and way out of date. You know there's a problem when the disc GUI has a PhenomX4 prominently displayed. Then when I tried to register the card on the DMM website all I got were error messages. OK, I'm done ranting but I'm pretty disappointed so far. Hopefully I can tweak it for better POEM results.

I read that the card is a monster on Donate and on DiRT. Donate is the money behind GPUGrid. I can't wait to play with it.

The included disc *always* has out of date drivers on it. 100% of the time, whether AMD or Nvidia based, regardless of brand. Personally i never use the discs. Just stick the card in, turn on the puter, and download. Far simpler to me since you have to do that anyway.

I know the discs are pretty much useles. I just thought there might be something on there that could be used.
