Got the lowest Ebola badge at WCG...finally. That should upgrade over the next few days.
Nice! Gotta get the Ebola work while we can. I should have the 180 Day badge by tonight's update... then on to 1yr and 2yr badges within a couple weeks. Work is steady now but one never knows... which is why I'm hoarding as much work as possible and using ThrottleStop to slow my CPUs down :DQuote:

WCG goes by cpu time for badges. The only project I know of that does. It's kinda kool that way cuz you can throw an older machine on it and earn a badge in the same time as a new fast machine. That works if your a badge hooe....
So let's say your running 4 threads on one machine,.. In 24 hours, that machine will do 4 days of cpu time.
14 days of cpu tme gets the bronze.

Got most of that when they came up with their only GPU app for any project so far. I had 5 7970s at the time and was pulling 5+ million PPD. 32 WUs at a time on each card really racked up the run time.Quote:

WCG has nothing to do with what app any project decides to use. That must come from the project scientists. The HCC app was originally a CPU app but some people associated with the original project were able to port it to GPUs. The GPUs took what would have been 5+ years of work and finished it in a few months. I was just in the right place at the right time to take advantage of it. Why any of the projects that have started since HCC ended have not been ported to GPUs I have no idea. Seems like a no brainer to me but maybe the porting process is not as easy for these newer projects.
