I thought I would start a thread for RSS feed requests. That way the admins could subscribe to this thread, and actually see the requests.

Added Optima@Home feed.
Can the rss for WCG please be turned on?
Done
DNA seems to be missing it's RSS Feed...
Added. BUT, due to some recent BOINC server changes some of the rss feeds are failing. Have to wait until they update their code perhaps.
Yup, think they are fixed now. It might have skipped a few combined milestones for today, I can add them manually as I am told about them/find them.
What a PITA that was! I should know better than to add a seemingly innocuous fix without testing it fully..
Can someone please add the RSS for radioactive@home?
Thanks!
And can the RSS please be added for Lattice?
I profess I know nothing about RSS or how to set it up so I leave that to Beer. I was looking at the forum Sub Groups the other day and thought we should update that. You now gave me more reason to do so, but I might not have time before I go into hospital next Monday. I might just have a talk with F@S see if can do it.
Keep on crunching and have a nice day...
CP.
I've added it for you.
CP, it's actually very easy. If you go to the Control Panel, scroll down the left side and click on the rss feeds->Add new feed. If you look at the Rss Manager and edit one of the existing ones, you only have to add a few of the fields and leave the rest as they are.
Title -> Lattice
url -> http://boinc.umiacs.umd.edu/rss_main.php
check feed -> 2 hours
max items to fetch -> 3
username -> RSS
forum - Lattice (or the generic for projects without a dedicated forum)
Title Template -> Insert the name at the front, so in this case it becomes 'Lattice {feed:title}'
That's it, save it and you are done!
Thank you BOK.
Yes, thank you for the lesson, Bok! I never did quite know how to do it without risking messing things up, so I always let Beer do it before. But now I have the guide book! ;)
Thanks also from me, I never looked into this before. It sounds like a Peace of Piss to a trained soldier, or a peace of train to a Pissed soldier...:D

Can the RSS feed please be added for SAT?
Can the Rosetta RSS feed please be turned on?
It is on. I just doubled checked, last update was Thursday @ 3:16pm.
Edit: I checked the website (http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rss_main.php), it is down so no RSS feed until they are back up.
Might be because they actually have two rss feeds IIRC.
And most of their posts go in their alternate one...
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_rss_potd.php
But as they are down it can't be confirmed
Well that's bloody stupid. OK, I'll amend the URL now. Hopefully they do not change things when they go back online.
They have at least two RSS feeds:
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_rss_potd.php
http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rss_main.php
The first is for the *daily* "Predictor of the Day", the second is for the normal front page news feed. We need the latter, not the former.
Oh poo. The latter one is the URL I originally had set for the forum. I am officially at a loss. According to the admin control panel the feed is being checked every 2 hours. BOK, I hope you don't me kicking this up to you?
Thanks.
F$
Heh. Rosetta is back up now.
OK. And I see the forum is grabbing stuff. The URL for the feed is the alternate one. Would you prefer I leave it be for now?
I suggest to NOT use the daily feed. Use the regular one. We just need to figure out why it was not working as expected.
I just ran a preview of the feed in the admin control panel using http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rss_main.php and got the following error: XML Error: Undeclared entity error at Line 38
BOK, any ideas?
Edit: The daily feed works as intended.
Hmm, not sure. It certainly looks like malformed xml but which one is the question.. Perhaps delete the feed and add a new one and get it to retrieve just the last 3?
OK, I deleted the Rosetta RSS feed.
Created a new one using http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rss_main.php
On Preview I still get "XML Error: Undeclared entity error at Line 38"
I then previewed using http://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/rah_rss_potd.php and it works fine.
FYI, both feeds work fine in google's rss reader.
I can't find an easy way to do this. It's definitely a problem with the feed. http://validator.w3.org/feed/check.c...2Frss_main.php
I'll see if I can contact Rosetta about it and get them to fix it.
I think that maybe the SIMAP RSS feed doesn't work. Maybe due to their address change?
EDIT: NM, it is working after all. I'm just blind.
