LOL !! Ok that is on the list.
If anyone here hasn't seen "It's a Wonderful Life" - 1946, B&W movie...I would highly recommend you take an hour out of your life for it. It must be ranked among the top 100 of movies ever made. If you've got anything of a heart, you can't watch that and not be moved; maybe even cry. ;)
I'm laughing on the outside. My smile is just skin deep. Inside I'm really crying, perhaps you'd join me for a weep.Quote:

Fun fact about that movie: When it was made, it was pretty much universally panned and disliked. So much so, in fact, that the movie studio let the copyright lapse, making it "Public Domain." Once it became free to air, TV stations started playing it around the holidays because it was free to show. And because it was free, everyone aired and every year, so it became the holiday tradition it is today...
My fav b&w christmas movie: Miracle on 34th Street
According to wiki:
Quote:
Critical reception
Miracle on 34th Street received mostly positive reviews from critics and is considered by many as one of the best films of 1947. The film currently holds a 94% "Fresh" rating on the review aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes with a consensus that the film is "irrefutable proof that gentle sentimentalism can be the chief ingredient in a wonderful film, a film that delivers a warm holiday message without resorting to treacle."
Awards and honors
The film won Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Edmund Gwenn), Best Writing, Original Story (Valentine Davies) and Best Writing, Screenplay. It was also nominated for Best Picture, losing to Gentleman's Agreement.

Er...um...why check out the interview when you can check out the PICTURES? :D
Haha, LOL! - welcome to 2010, I guess. Where nothing is as it seems. LAF kicks our hind end. The Lakers win, again. And, Playboy does interviews instead of photoshoots. Who knew? :D
Makes me hold my breath for 2011! ;)
This looks like some funny shite. I'm in on this one. The trailor for Skyline looks good, but lately I have been very disappointed with Sci-Fi fliks. You get already for something great and then you find out that there has always been an additive in the Corn Flakes that is making you see things and that's why everyone is seeing Aliens. Big let down.:-L
To anyone that is interested, Skyline was NOT a good movie.
The trailer for Skyline looks good--but then so did the trailer for Cloverfield and I was highly disappointed with that one.
heheh joker--just noticed your location is Mambee Pambee land-- LOVE that commercial.... you jack wagon ;)
Saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Had to go because it was my anniversary & Possum wanted to actually go to the theater to see it--we NEVER did that, we always had to wait for DVD. It was tough to go, but both my sons agreed I needed to do it.
Bad part---ack, waiting till next summer to see the second part. I purposely didn't read the book because when I do that, I'm always disappointed in the movie.
Agreed Skyline was a movie that I would have rather see on rental rather then going to the movies. My son wanted to go so that did it for me , Netflix next time.
Any TRON fans here?
And to anyone looking to see the new TRON, it is, at BEST, a DVD rental.
Sorry to say it Fire, but there were 2 of us and we both used the same phrase: That movie sucked. I have seen the original one at least 30 times. This movie didnt do it any kind of justice. :(Quote:
You LIE... It can't be that bad. It just can't!!!

Going to see it in like 30 minutes.
Good luck Zytozux.
Just got back. It was definitely entertaining. The soundtrack is really the best part of the movie, if you like electronic music. Oh and Olivia Wilde was in it too.
A movie for the music? Did you actually like the movie?Quote:

If you mean the plot then no. It didn't seem very original at all. The antagonist was Hitler lawl? I thought they were eventually going to pull out light sabers and fight as well. Maybe if they had just redone the original film with the updated CGI it would have worked out better.
Went to see Tron today in 3D. Was OK at best. I figured they would have a tough time integrating 1980's Tron with today's tech. They did. Not a complete waste of $26.00 but could the money could have been better spent towards a used/refurb p4 mb with a pci-e slot. ($35.00) Nice job with the computer gen. graphics. Sad to say it looked like they were pushing the upcoming video game more than making a movie. Wife liked it tho.
