Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork_int
Dear All, Thanks for your contributions to this project. This is NCI app and doesn't need multiple computing resources from same volunteer. To save your computing resources, we sent at most one instance of a given job to a given user. The minimus sendwork_interval has been changed to 12 hours. We have another project climateathome: http://climateathome.com/climateathome It uses VirtualBox to run climate model. If you have idle PC, please consider to join our climateathome project by the following steps: 1) Check if VT-x has been enabled (most pc support this) see http://climateathome.com/climateatho....php?id=61#364 2) Install VirtualBox https://www.virtualbox.org/ 3) add the project http://climateathome.com/climateathome 4) You can set your CPU and memory usage rate in BOINC to limit the workunits

1000 or just 1 tasks, it's all free credits. So what if they give you a smaller amount of "free"?

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
Each one of my boxes was running one this morning, except for the 2 that say Flash isn't installed on, but actually is installed.
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
Are you sure it said Flash? Because the project wants Java...
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
My mistake, it was Java and that's installed too
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
It needs 32bit java. 64bit java will not work.
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I had to install java on two of mine and they seem to be going now.
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I have been getting tasks on a regular basis. No changes to my box, I just let it run and it seems to be working OK.
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I was getting a few Wu's now & then, but haven't got any since yesterday sometime for some reason ... ?
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I'm not getting any either. However, I do have one on a laptop that hung at 49% .... that was 4 days ago. I'm not getting any credits for it, but it certainly improves the WuProp hours :D

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I had been getting 1 wu per system on 7 different systems pretty consistently, now I've got only one wu running and the rest state that it can't find Java...again.

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I am now down to a single task running on a single machine. For whatever random reason, it seems to be working as advertised for me.
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
They said they were going to change it so that they only issue 1 WU per user. Maybe the time has come????

I'm wondering if having multiple IP addresses with the same username and password would entitle you to a WU at each IP address. :-?

I'll let you know in about 4 hours. Right now I have the hung WU running in TX and the other machine here and all of them in CO do NOT have any WU running. In 4 hours my second laptop down here will pass the 12 hour hold off period.

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork

My Box's still Backoff to 12 Hr's ...

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
Odd. Maybe they changed it back, after reducing the number of tasks to 1 per user?
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
Mine is 12 hours also and has now dropped to one task only.
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
A fine lot of blackops. 1 WU =))=)) . . . every 12 hours =))=))=))=))
Wanna race ;)

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
I still haven't received 1 Wu yet today ...
-
Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
Free or not if you get only 1 a day project positions are pretty well set. Teams can jockey for position but not individuals. I don't like the assumption that all your boxes are in 1 location so you only need 1 box. Also my atom toys are 1/6 of my larger boxes for credits so I have to pull the little guys to make sure they are not used.

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
Not sure whats going on at the Project but I've picked up enough Wu's in the last few day's to go over 10k once they report, so I got a little better MM out of the Project anyway ... :D

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
That's crazy, I am struggling to reach 1k.

Re: Spatiotemporal Quality of Service (QoS): one result per user per wu, min_sendwork
There's a guy from Taiwan that has put up 1700 credits today ... he just passed me and is in the 11th position.
