Just earned my gold badge status on Muon yesterday.:)
It looks like I will fall short of my 10,000 hours on the project as I only have 130 more Muon WUs left to crunch.:(

DOWNCLOCK your CPU! Been there and done that :D In the past I've dropped mine down to 1/2 normal speed and they don't mind at all .... in fact they run much cooler.Quote:

My Asus MB has those controls.
I'm monitoring it a little bit.
I have 104 Wu's left to get 388 hours.
I set the app_config to run more muon, evolution and ecm Wu's than I have threads so that each one doesn't get a whole thread.
It seems to lengthen the time each one takes and sprinkling in the other non-muon WUs makes sure I'm not trading time for increased quantity therefore negating the effort on the muons. :)
I just have to keep an eye on the deadlines.
Does Muon checkpoint? If not, just keep restarting BOINC before they complete.
I tried stopping and starting Boinc manager ( actually I rebooted my machine while I was at it) and the muon and ecm WUs picked up where they left off.
The evolution WUs started over.
I'm guessing that the muons must checkpoint.:confused:

I have 42 WUs left with 6 more currently processing.
I've got them slowed to 3.5 hour each.
Let's see... 3.5 X 48 =168 hours.
I need to slow them some more.
I'm adding two cruncher ogr WUs to the concurrent crunching to split the threads among to slow each down a little more.
I can get this if I keep an eye on it. :-ss[-O<
I still need 182 hours on Muon to hit 10k. If anybody has any Muon WUs and doesn't need the WUProp hours, I'll trade you crunching time, either credits or WUProp hours.
BTW, I can run Win, Linux, Android-ARM and Linux ARM apps in case there are WUProp apps you don't have yet.

Checked this morning and the last 4 muon WUs are processing.
I'm sitting at 9999.18 hours if you can believe it.
The next wuprop report should put me over 10,000 for hours muon with an hour or two to spare. (I hope) X_X
