:) Hello Team SETI.USA,

Team SETI.Germany continues it's new invented challenge and invites all BOINC-Teams to participate in the 4.rd BOINC PENTATHLON, following the ideals of the ancient Pentathlon.

It will start May the 5th 2013 (00:00 UTC) and will end May the 18th 2013 (23:59 UTC).

Like in the ancient Greece, the Pentathlon will be held in 5 disciplines. That means within 14 days the participants will have to crunch 5 different projects, all of them for a period of 5 days. That said, you can easily see that some projects will have to be crunched at the same time.

Each team that would like to participate has to sigh up : http://www.seti-germany.de/boinc_pen...g.php?&lang=en until April the 27. th 2013. Like in the last year the favourites in the different disciplines can be chosen by every team on their own. The project that gaines the most voices will be crunched.

(But before suggesting other projects, please check if the project and/or their servers would be able to withstand the combined BOINC forces. We do not want to bring any project server down.)

New Rules 2013

1. All disciplines are now 5 days announced before the start (no longer 1 week)

2. 1 of the five disciplines is a marathon discipline. It is calculated over the entire pentathlon (or until no longer work units available). The scoring is the same with the other disciplines.


In the last year it was very exciting until the end.

Hey there SEARCHER, tell us more about the marathon discipline. Hopefully it won't be something boring like WuProp or FreeHal. I remember in the 2nd Pentathlon when FreeHal was picked for some reason. It was really boring and caused alot of people to lose interest.

the marathon discipline is top secret. For all participating team `s.

But I can tell you, it will be a very stable and well-maintained project.

John no one is perfect, but we learn from our mistakes and try to improve every year.

You know for sure that we will do our best.

As part of the BOINC Pentathlon, the project SIMAP will start on 2013-05-05 00:00:00 (UTC) and will end on 2013-05-19 00:00:00 (UTC). The stats of SIMAP will be updated every hour. The last update was on unknown (UTC). Now it's 2013-04-29 22:40:04 (UTC).
The stats not only show the output of the last hour, the last 12 hours and the last 24 hours but also the daily output.

This is the Marathon Discipline and will be crunched for the entire duration of the Pentathlon. You may begin submitting completed workunits on May 4th at 8PM EST/5PM PST to count towards SETI.USA's score ;)

You will be verified as actually being a legitimate member of SETI.USA and then allowed to access alot more content :)

The 2nd Discipline is World Community Grid: Computer for Clean Energy - Phase 2

All credits granted between 05/06/2013, 8PM EST/5PM PST and 05/11/2013, 8PM EST/5PM PST will be taken into the BOINC Pentathlon validation. Please note that pending credits cannot be taken into account!



The 3rd Discipline in the GPU category is Einstein@Home

All credits granted between 05/07/2013, 8PM EST/5PM PST and 05/13/2013, 8PM EST/5PM PST will be taken into the BOINC Pentathlon validation. Please note that pending credits cannot be taken into account!

GEE! I do not have even half of them uploaded yet! Guess I will hold them for a little while, and break the server again 'later'. :p

My upload rate for SIMAP from 8 to 9:30 is 418 WUs per hour. 45% have validated. No errors. No invalids.

We're currently in 3rd place, only 65K behind SETI.Germany. If anyone wants to join us crunching SIMAP to help the team out, it'll be much appreciated :)

I've never seen that happen over at SIMAP unless their batch was completely out. They are generating work, but at this point their work generation is not keeping pace with consumption. Time for a little Slicker help! :)

Yoyo has been announced as the 4th discipline! All completed workunits turned in from May 11th 8PM EST/5PM PST to May 16th 8PM EST/5PM PST will count towards our score in the Pentathlon. Crunch on!
