There is a right way to install AOI coolers

Apparently I have been doing it wrong, when I mount radiators to the front.

TLDR: There is always some air in the loop. You want the air to pool in the radiator, not the pump. So make sure at least some of the radiator is higher than the pump when front-mounting. Also, make sure the high end of the radiator is the closed end, not the end with the tubes attached, to avoid the air pooling around the radiator connectors.

No wonder my NZXT AIO coolers have been crapping out.

Thanks, that's some good info. I guess I totally got lucky all this time with mounting them in the top of the case and didn't even know it.

Re: There is a right way to install AOI coolers

My son-in-laws cooler recently gave up with a grinding noise.
I gave him this information, and after inspecting his installation he had a short response to me.

    "Well, Crap!"

Thanks for the heads up info.
It may save his next unit.
