    2080 Ti vs 3080

The cost of high end GPUs are just going up. No end in sight, as far as I can tell. And this includes the used market for older generations. Thanks miners. Again.

Anyway, 2080 Ti are going for ~$1000 and 3080 are going for ~$1600. This seems to be going UP about 10% every month or so.

So the question is: Is the 3080 60% better at crunching?

Do the Gflops ratings on the wiki sites still compare apples to apples for crunching? Or do newer cards have some extra goodies that makes their crunching times better than their Gflops rating compared to previous generations?

Can you find anything you actually want in stock?

I was looking at putting together one of those new AMD Zen3 rigs, and can't even find the CPUs in stock! I thought for sure if I justed wanted a few months, but no...so I really have no idea if one of those new GPUs can punch its weight against the inflated cost right now?

Did anything actually show up in stock that you wanted yet?

Hah! I am guessing it will be a year or more. Maybe never at all for this generation. It may not be until the next gen is released, and the miners upgrade. And THEN, MAYBE the used market will have some 3000 series available.
