    reporting problem

    i'm runing Gerasim and I have 69 wu's ready to report and I'm getting this message " 8/17/2024 11:09:21 PM | Gerasim@home | Invalid request received. Cannot load request into XmlDocument. Invalid character in the given encoding. Line 2119, position 36."

    anyone know what this means or how to fix it other than removing the project. would appreciate any help. thanks for any help

    I'm giving it a shot now to see if I get the same error.

    Re: reporting problem

    In the past, an error like that meant that the file "global_prefs.xml" has an issue.
    It gets updated every time a preference for that machine changed.
    It could have gotten corrupted, such as a missing or invalid html tag happened when the file got written.

    You could try:

    * Stopping BOINC manager on that machine.
    * Find the file "C:\ProgramData\BOINC\global_prefs.xml" and rename it to keep a copy.
    * Restart BOINC manager.

    It should create a new global_prefs.xml file.
    You can then see if the Gerasim wus report.

    If things don't change, then you can always go back and delete the newly created global_prefs.xml file and rename the one you renamed earlier back to the original name.

    i will give that a shot in the morning, i will be leaving for about 4 days tomorrow and i hate to leave that machine doing nothing.
