I was shopping for a rice cooker and...

So I was online shopping for a rice cooker to take to school with me and came across some strange things. I think I'm gonna go with this one since cooking pot's not too big for one person and comes from a very reputable brand. That and it's small enough to stuff under the bed to hide it from the RA . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16896128008

When on new egg it suggests that I buy a new GPU and an HDMI cable? Wow! I didn't know rice cookers could crunch! lol
Then on Amazon they suggested I buy a new toilet seat with it... Weird...
Any one else seen any strange suggestions while shopping online?

PS: If any one has any rice cooker recommendations or can find it cheaper let me know.

My wife would refer to that as the Elephant brand.

We have the Tiger brand for both our 3 cup (when we make for ourselves) and the 10 cup (for parties).

    Here is the 3-cup @ Amazon for $102+$10 S&H
    http://www.amazon.com/Tiger-America-.../dp/B000BFPD24

Or you can get the Zojirushi 5.5 Cup for $89 (this will still cook the smaller amounts of rice as well)
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

    Tiger 5.5 Cup is $116 + S&H

I'm more in the market for a fuzzy logic cooker like the one I linked to.

I bought this one back in Dec... No complaints other than it takes longer than our old simple cooker did, but the rice comes out better. Have cooked both white and brown rice both came out perfect

WOW thats a lot! I think I spent 20 bucks for a microwavble bucket that rice cooks in. Works fine took me about 10 trys to get the water level right. http://www.pamperedchef.com/ordering...pc?prodId=9805 I'm sure the directions told me how much water but I never read them. Also I have never ate a lot of rice so a cup or 2 is all I've ever cooked in it. Thats enough carbs for my family for any meal.

Is that fuzzy logic kind of like a politician's fuzzy math?

In the case of rice cookers it's the brand name of a technology that uses a mathematical algorithm with input from a series of heat and steam sensors to instruct the unit when to apply heat and how much vs the traditional shut off at a factory set temperature. It also allows the unit to be programed to cook different kinds of rice. The programs even allow the unit to include a soaking and cool off stage to the cycle allowing for a better quality rice. This is also part of why fuzzy logic cookers take longer.

Thats how I understand it at least. I guess I put too much research into my purchases... Buying my mini fridge wasn't this difficult...
