Registration Mod Querry

Greetings crew,

A few months back I took responsibility for AA so Cruncher Pete could stretch his cruncher like legs and would be grateful to know how you've set up the new registrations to go to specific welcome thread. I've set up AA to do similar behavior by using a probationary New Member group with limited permissions then when all is well new member is bumped to the Member group.

Is this how it's done here or is SETI.USA using a mod? If is the latter could some one please give me a link to source for a look.

I set this up, I went through several iterations before I got it working the way I wanted, but it is all done with the stock forum software no add-ons. It was a while ago and I am not currently the admin so I can't go in and look around to remember how I did it.
