    Cuda stops working??

    I keep getting this error.

    acemd2_6.15_windows_intelx86_cuda31 has stopped working

I am reasonably certain it is happening when I am processing a GPUGRID work unit.

The details of the error are as follows:

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
    Application Name: acemd2_6.15_windows_intelx86__cuda31
    Application Version: 0.0.0.0

    Fault Module Name: acemd2_6.15_windows_intelx86__cuda31
    Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
    Fault Module Timestamp: 4e11af1b
    Exception Code: 40000015
    Exception Offset: 0003af9a
    OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48
    Locale ID: 1033

    Additional Information 3: 0e78
    Additional Information 4: 0e78fc48a26c052b587ba9437de5b81b

I am hoping someone has run into this before. And I hope I posted it in the right forum. Crossing my fingers now...

I've not seen that error before. Have you checked their forums?

Can't find anything about it. Just updated to newest drivers and still got the error. Is it gpu grid, is it the card itself, what is it?

I didn't see this thread and I posted the exact same error in another thread. Could it be the cuda app itself? I haven't been able to find any answers either.

How soon are these erroring out? Hopefully early. It's not that unusual to see some errors with GPUGrid, most of mine come when overclocked too high. Stable on DiRT or PG is not necessarily stable on GPUGrid. I can only get away with about 10 - 15 percent.

That said, I usually run the long wus exclusively and I have not seen that exact error.

    Re: Cuda stops working??

It may be related to the bug in the recent drivers from nvidia.

    http://www.gpugrid.net/forum_thread.php?id=2870

It is causing tasks to blow up every time the OS tries to put the monitor to sleep. Try turning off that feature and see if it still happens.

For my dedicated crunchers, they are all headless. So I have that feature turned off anyway.

    Re: Cuda stops working??

I reinstalled with the newest drivers from NVIDIA and it seems to have stopped for now. I am half way through a GPU Grid work unit with no issues yet.

This forum post at EVGA has been most helpful with my initial driver install and now this update of drivers. http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=1174372

It contains some very good information and guidelines that will save one from many headaches.

Nevermind happened again. Now I have turned off the monitor sleep function. Hope that does it.
