What they don't mention is that it will continually get harder and harder to solve blocks. I belive it has been around 7% harder per month since it started. Eventually, like gold in Alaska, it really won't pay for anyone to mine it anymore unless they just plain get lucky. I wonder who sold that bill of goods to the management to fund a staff person for a year at a time.... Probably the same guy who came up with the scheduler algorithm for the BOINC client which seems to randomly run apps at high priority when they are 50% done, have taken 5 hours to get to that point, and have 120 hours before the deadline.
