QUESTION? motherboards: memory standard supported
what does it mean when the motherboard specs say:
"Memory Standard: DDR3 2200(OC)/2133(OC)/2000(OC)/1800(OC)/ 1600/1333/1066" ?
the (OC) inparticular?
does that mean i would have to OC before the PC would even boot on initial setup?
thanks

Re: QUESTION? motherboards: memory standard supported
Seems the latter are the standard speeds the board is designed to handle but it can also handle faster/overclocked ram.
Your board should boot at your default ram speed etc.
Thereafter you can adjust speed/timings/voltages etc as required.

Re: QUESTION? motherboards: memory standard supported
What vaio said. Those are the speeds the memory will work at, and the OC tells you the speed it will work at if you decide to OC it. But you DO NOT need to do that before firing up the machine...
