    Here we go again!

I have to say that Evga service is good but I wish I didn't have to use it again this soon. I got a replacement GTX 465 for one that went bad a couple of weeks ago. Today I was looking at Boinc and wouldn't you know it....only one instance of GPU Grid was running. Looked in device manage and only had one video card. Back to doing a little trouble shootiong and sure enough...the replacement card has quit. Talked to Evga and they authorized a cross shipment of another card. We'll see how the new one holds up. Still it will be 6-8 days to get the new one.

RETIRED. NO JOB. NO MONEY. NO WORRIES!

Crunched SETI Classic to the end.

Another victim, an Asus HD 4870 donated by Mike029. It took a nose dive last Monday. Not sure if its a total loss but atm it cannot crunch. VRegs getting way to hot and screen turns to garbage then the system shuts down. I might try the VGA cooler I got from AL just to see if its worth buying one for it come this fall.

AMD's most recent software development kit (AMD APP SDK 2.7) no long supports 4xxx cards. They are considered deprecated. If they work, great. If not, too bad. So, I wouldn't put too much effort into them - especially if it requires buying parts.

Yeah, that is the reason I am reluctant to invest in a cooler. Although something might show up on eBay one of these days.

Looks like I started an epidemic. Sorry I really didn't mean to. At least my card has been sent out by Evga.

Maybe we can get Dr.Pop to do the inoculations? Just what I needed to perk me up this morning. Thanks Duke.
