    You didn't understand what I said. First I was giving a easy example to be understood and then I said breaking a composite integer into prime factors, 11 is already a prime factor that is actually proven as a prime. Prime factor is difference than only saying prime.

    Take a look at the latest result: 3,637- factors


    The composite cofactor of 3,637- was the product of 85-digit and 127-digit prime numbers:

    85-digit prime factor:

    127-digit prime factor:

    In a simple way:

    Primegrid looks for primes of the form N = k*b^n +/- 1, so they use a primality proving program called LLR.
    NFS@Home, for the Cunningham Project (example), seeks to factor the numbers b^n +- 1 for b = 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, up to high powers n, by finding PRP's. A PRP is a probable prime number, a number that nobody knows how to prove or disprove its primality. A PRP could probably be proven prime using either Primo or a distributed version of ECPP.
    Anyway, I posted a list of references where you can study this matter.

    Let's see if you can get me. BTW, looking at your computers you are not maximizing your credit output. For the machines you have more than 1GB per thread/core you should run the lasievef application that gives you 65 points per wu in contrast with lasieved and lasievee applications that give you 36 e 44 points, respectively. So go to here:

    and set up your NFS@Home preferences like this (see bold):

    lasieved - app for RSALS subproject, uses less than 0.5 GB memory: no
    lasievee - work nearly always available, uses up to 0.5 GB memory: no
    lasievef - used for huge factorizations, uses up to 1 GB memory: yes
    lasieve5f - used for huge factorizations, uses up to 1 GB memory: no

    For the machines with less than 1GB per thread you can create a different profile or you can run 3 instances lasievef application. Note that running 3 instances of lasievef application (195 points) gives you more credit than running 4 instances of lasieved application (144 points).

    I don't think it's a question of if Fire$torm will catch you but when.
    And I'm just curious...why did you choose NFS as your sole project? If you're concerned about maximizing credits, there are other projects with better credit/hour ratios.
