    Cougar 120mm fan. 300,000 hours MTBF. 70.5cfm @ 17.9 dB

Very similar stats cfm vs. noise stats compared to these Enermaxs: http://www.setiusa.us/showthread.php...ll=1#post48742

    I really like these:

Been buying them recently for cpu cooler fans and case fans. 74cfm 15dBA

Nice find! Noise to CFM ratio definitely much better on those.

@JPM: Question for that COUGAR CF-V12HP fan you listed. In the overview section a graph showing Static Pressure (SP) vs CFM. Am I correct in thinking that graph is wrong? Shouldn't SP rise with airflow rate?

Nope CFM normally drops as SP rises. Think of higher SP as backpressure which restricts the CFM. The strength of the motor has alot to do with how much SP you generate at a given CFM. On some cheaper fans, when airflow gets restricted by a radiator, heatsink or whatever, this can cause the blades to spin slower which makes the loss of CFM when faced with higher SP significant. Also some people (like me) like to keep positive pressure inside of their cases. This also creates some SP since air is being pushed in faster than it can get out.

OK, I see the problem. I was thinking in terms of SP "potential" in terms of a specific RPM setting (Free Air), not its "measured" CFM rate. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess if the graph had also included current draw or HP it would have been much more apparent.

Best 230mm fans: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=1&PageSize=20 other colors are available when they have them

These fans are excellent case fans. This size is typically found on HAF cases (such as the front air intake on the HAF X and HAF 932) and others. These fans provide ~50% more CFM than Cooler Master's stock fans. Recommended for intake only. Exhaust should be lower CFM than intake to keep dust out and to cool more efficiently (positive pressure).
