    Gnip

    Heeeeeee's Baaaaaaaaack...

Well, not at my former crunching power, but I do have 8 CPUs going.... Took a bit to track down the new site, as well... I made a couple posts on the old one, and when I got no replies, I decided to start poking around a little further... guess I found it...

Now to see if anyone actually remembers me.

Welcome back! Glad you found your way here. Very cool to meet you.

Although I've never met you, I recall having seen your nic mentioned by Beerdrinker. You are a Ham Radio Operator?

    Anyhoot, make yourself at home.

    Peace,
    F$

First, thank you for the replies and the warm welcomes.

Yes, I am an Amateur Extra HAM. I don't have much going in the way of radios right now, but that is all tied in to why I had to stop crunching a few years ago... Finances happened.

I'm interested in crunching mathematics (ABC, PrimeGrid) and astronomy (MilkyWay, Einstein, Orbit). I don't do Biomedical primarily because of the "Who is going to profit feduciarily?" issue.

I remember Beerdrinker and a few others from way back in the day.

Current hardware is an AMD FX-8130 with 32G DDR3-1600 and an nVidia GS550Ti. Current plans are to acquire another 550Ti, and to get one of my older C2Qs going again. I run on Linux, currently Ubuntu.

Back when I was crunching before I had 12 machines going with at least two cores each, and I managed them all remotely while I was on the road (I used to drive a truck for a living.) Now I've got a "real" job that has me working 10-12 hour days fairly constantly.

That's really about it, for now... Need to hop on WoW and do my dailies before work.

    Enjoy.

Was wondering what ever happened to your wandering Arse? Remeber being able to track you on the road with your cab full of puters and remotes. Great to see you back again!
