    Ibercivis: A better link/URL

(this should probably be a sticky for this sub-forum)

When I hear about a new project that I don't already have bookmarked, I hunt down the project by a couple methods:

    1) I will go to one of the the BOINC stats sites. For Ibercivis, they all point to http://www.ibercivis.es

    2) I will google it. For Ibercivis, the first result is also http://www.ibercivis.es

Both of those results leads you to a site, completely in Spanish. You can sorta manage with google translate. But it's still crap, and a PITA.

However, if you point your browser here, it will be served in the language that you actually use:

    http://www.ibercivis.net

Thanks to POVAddict for the tip!

Now, why do the BOINC stats sites point to the spanish-only domain?

Edit: Also, the Ibercivis site is completely non-standard. And complete crap, IMO. It's missing a lot of links to some of the standard BOINC pages I consider absolutely mandatory. You can get to them like this:

    Take this URL: http://www.ibercivis.net/ibercivis/

...and then add to the suffix of the page you need to get to. You can find the suffix by going to a standard BOINC project site. For example, the application list is always at (url)/apps.php. So for Ibercivis, the applications page is:

    http://www.ibercivis.net/ibercivis/apps.php

    Your account page:

    http://www.ibercivis.net/ibercivis/home.php

    etc...

Edit#2: You may have to use the http://www.ibercivis.es address to join the project in your BOINC application. Not sure about that. I haven't tested using the http://www.ibercivis.net address.

    thanks. Good to know.

btw, are they not exporting stats? My stats on free-dc don't match what I have on the site and I haven't worked any tasks in a couple weeks.

I think they fixed their links. All of their split-level interactive links to account pages, stats, FAQ, etc. display the intended information.

Looks like this is all broken again. I can't manage to stumble on the home.php page at all. And I need to change my App settings for this stupid project again...

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Ibercivis: A better link/URL

It looks like the .net address doesn't work any more. This works:

    https://boinc.ibercivis.es/ibercivis/

But I had to re-create my account. What a mess.

Edit: It turns out that this is a completely new server, from scratch. All the old data and stats are gone. Not sure what the stat sites should do about that. I really don't want my old stats to be wiped out. Maybe create a new project called something like "Ibercivis II"?

Is this the project that totally chews up all your network capability? It is distributed storage or something like that?

The network hog project is IThena. That is a different project. The distributed storage project BigData@Home, ended years ago.
