Wow, this project is kicking my but. One of my 24 core linux boxes that was rock solid has a 25% error rate. The 32 core box has some bad memory right now that I haven't had time to fix so I'm not even trying that system on NFS.

Surprisingly I haven't had a single error yet (Knock on Wood) usually I get 1 every so often but none yet ... Does the Box have enough Memory ???

I had never had error tasks on NFS both in Linux and Windows.

Maybe you are using too much of memory pagination and the system gets lost on it.

Sorry about that Ste\/e. In about 30 minutes last night I went from about 100 WU's to holding roughly 25% of what NFS has out for processing. Still having problems getting work on many of the systems, but it'll do for now.

Don't know what the heck happened but every thing I'm getting is erring out across the board (every box) in a few minutes so basically I'm out of work ...

    Re: NFS@Home April Showers Challenges

So, in general, is linux faster on NFS? On my old xeon boxes it seems to be a draw with win 7. With my 8150 amd it would appear to be a lot faster under a linux vm...though I haven't finished a wu under the vm yet, so I don't have true time to base that assumption on.

    Edit:

    AMD 8150

    Linux - Completed and validated 4,985.10 4,939.05 36.00 14e Lattice Sieve v1.10
    Win7 - Completed and validated 6,876.88 6,716.22 36.00 14e Lattice Sieve v1.08

    AMD 1035T

    Linux - Completed and validated 4,855.67 4,824.20 36.00 14e Lattice Sieve v1.10
    Win7 - Completed and validated 7,952.11 7,913.12 36.00 14e Lattice Sieve v1.08

    Xeon 5420

    Linux - Completed and validated 7,394.07 7,228.74 36.00 14e Lattice Sieve v1.10
    Win7 - Completed and validated 7,893.46 7,745.80 36.00 14e Lattice Sieve v1.08

Seems well worth running the vms on the amds, not so much on the old intel xeons.

Man, that's lame. Sorry to hear that. I had one WU error out on my laptop yesterday, but I figured that was because I started and stopped that one too many times! Hope it gets sorted out soon for you! Hate to see you lose such a high position in the challenge, you are right up there!
