Nvidia Possibly Skipping 800 Series

They claim the numbers are too similar to other things so they're just going to call it the 900 series *yawn*

Nvidia will probably announce it around Sept. 9th or 10th and then all the review sites will post their results on the 19th. Availability in October probably. It's *still* 28nm so don't expect much of an increase in energy efficiency. Probably ~200W for the GTX 980.

The real reason should be pretty plain. Like the 9000gt series, they plan to revamp the card after this next release.
